I've been a big fan of journals since youth. I didn't have much of a respectable social life back then but I've nonetheless always secured myself a good datebook for my occasional OC attacks within the year. Last year's planner, for instance, has been a repository of my Pampers Hearts Club stickers and has given me great relief that I don't go losing track of redeeming them. And with my being a self-confessed promo junkie, it is no surprise that I have yearly, since its launch, fallen prey to the coveted Starbucks planner. I just love that they strive to come up with a fresh concept each year.
This season, Starbucks offers three designs which all come in monochromatic, fabric finish. The three covers depict the different stages in the preparation of coffee: from beans, to roasting, and to the finished product. I personally go for the finished product design, not least for its less-velvety texture. The other fabrics simply invite accidents and early wear/tear. I'm not sure if the new designs go with pens, as they always did before.
A wishlist card with 17 slots will have to be filled with stickers for each drink to get the planner. The card requires 9 stickers covering holiday featured drinks (dark cherry mocha, peppermint mocha and toffee nut) and 8 covering beverages of your choice. That's not a bad count considering I've been looking forward to dark cherry mocha all year round and starbucks trips always comes with at least two cups: for me and my husband. I just hope we finish all 17 before crunch time, so we can get the planners BEFORE the year starts (for a change). I was joking earlier with my boss that I probably wouldn't care less if the covers were of celebrities and the book itself ringbound, as the thrill of getting it alone is enough of a high. Well, not too probably. Hahaha.
